This newsletter was written after the first Miami Dating Coach boot camp. It was a free event and happened before this website was ever created. Enjoy!
I want to take this time to warmly welcome all newcomers to the Miami Lair. It’s really tough going at this process alone, but when you have a group of people with the same goals in mind, to keep you motivated, to not let you fail, and to teach and learn from, it makes the journey a whole lot easier.
Some of you I may still not have met or talked to yet. If you are one of these people, please introduce yourself to the community.
For those that attended Thursday night’s free boot camp, thank you for joining. Please feel free to send me comments or suggestions on how it can be improved or what you liked about it. The student/instructor ratio will be at most 2/1 instead of 5/1. This is definitely important since I was only able to really instruct Cooldown. For the rest of you, I’m sorry I didn’t give you personal feedback, though I hope that it was still an enjoyable experience. Here is Thursday night’s field report. Enjoy.
Field Report
After all the boys came, we went inside the conference room and introduced ourselves and what we wanted out of pick-up and the community. Everyone seemed to be on the same page. After an hour and a half of seminar and discussion of inner game and strategy, we all left to coconut grove to begin the field work. Most of us had to separate so in my group, it was just Kingpin, Cooldown, and I. We wasted no time and began training Cooldown right away with cold approaches. We took turns opening and showing how it’s done. I opened a lone woman by simply asking directions, ran some attract material, and left with a high five. Then Kingpin did the same with a two set. Cooldown followed up with a set and asked directions. However, I think that teaching people to ask directions as an opener is a bit counter to what needs to be done, so we opened the next set with a real opener. It went okay. Our three warm up sets were finished when we got to Mr. Moe’s. I saw the rest of our group inside but we couldn’t get in because Cooldown was not yet 21. Damn. So we left to get him some pizza and told the rest of the group where to meet us when they were done with drinks.
While Cooldown feasted, Kingpin opened a 3set with the “My friend is going on a date” opener. He ran game while Cooldown and I sat and watched. All of a sudden, one of the girls started teasing me and I joined in on the pick up. Kingpin and I continued running game and building attraction. One of the women began showing me a lot of interest. She was asking me all sorts of questions. So, wasting no time, I went straight for qualification. I asked her if she danced salsa and she said she did. I let her feel like I was being won over showing interest as if I couldn’t resist salsa dancers, which is true. I freaking love them.
“No way! Really? Are you seriously a salsa dancer? Guys! Is she really a salsa dancer?”
The whole set was now focused on me qualifying their friend.
“Yes she is!”
“That’s it! She’s seen all my cards. I can’t talk to your friend anymore. This isn’t good, she’s bad for me! I have a girlfriend.”
Then they all go…
“Ohhhhh… I can’t believe you said that! Only white guys say that. Latin men never say that.”
“Yeah, well in actuality, when I say that I have a girlfriend, girls actually start climbing all over me.”
“Maybe that’s why you said it in the first place!”
“Yeah right, you wish.”
Now that the set is clearly interested in us, I try to go for a bounce and suggest we go dance salsa at a nearby club where I know the owner. Clearly, I waste no time in bouncing this set as fast as possible. They refuse at first, but after Kingpin and I ran a bit more comfort building (about 3 more minutes) I got up and began pulling them saying, “Let’s go.” I joined them holding two of the women in each arm. Cooldown was still far from finished eating, probably from the entertainment of watching Kingpin and I work. So I tell him to meet us there. But instead he scurries up and comes along with unfinished food in his hands as he eagerly watched us run set.
As we continued down the road, Kingpin and I continued running game while kino escalating with arm and arm and hand holding. As we arrived at Cafe Feelings with the two girls on my arms, there was Mr. GQ waiting. With total shock and a look on his face that couldn’t believe this dorky Jewish boy wearing a ridiculous jester’s hat had two cute women on his arms, Mr. GQ greeted us laughing his ass off and saying, “Let’s go, this place sucks.” So we all moved to a bar close by with the rest of the group. I continued to work the salsa dancer woman until it was time for them to go and #closed her. This woman will be joining us on our Saturday night outing at Bongos.
After a bit of drinking and shooting the shit with the guys, we went to Senior Frogs and talked game. I was exhausted after the 3set that Kingpin and I controlled for so long, but still managed to do one more set with Cooldown. I told him to open a 4set that had a guy, a beautiful woman, and two average looking women. His opening was strong, but I could see that his energy level was too low and he wasn’t smiling and truly enjoying himself, so I could see the set starting to die. I came in and intercepted him to bring the group back up and engaged the women he was talking to, running game, and showing him the proper energy level he needs. I kept finding excuses to whisper in his ear telling him things to tweak in his game, “Smile more, get more energy, tease them…” I would come in and mostly steal his set but then leave when I saw the set was fully engaged and let Cooldown take charge. All of a sudden, the guy in the group got pissed off, dragged away half the set, and left two of the girls talking to Cooldown. We totally AMOGed this poor guy, when in reality, we should have befriended him. The two girls kept inviting us to where they were going but we stayed with our group and wished them goodbye. As we left to our cars, we opened a final set with a total bitch. She was the queen of bitches. An “Alpha Male” as Kingpin described her. Nothing but insults, cursing, and judgmental behavior came from this woman. She really phased out Cooldown and I because of her shockingly rude behavior even to Miami’s standards. But Kingpin, as usual, with his mastery of inner game, reminded us to never take anything personally and to understand that her anger and bitchiness is a defense mechanism for her frustration and insecurities. “This woman obviously suffers and does not have a happy life. Don’t be angry at her, feel bad for her.” Kingpin said. It was great seeing such an improvement in Cooldown’s game that night and to open his eyes to see what is possible.

“Love women for who they are. Don’t ever hate them. Understand that If you lived through what they have to go through every single day, dealing with disgusting men, and having periods, you’d be emotionally unstable too.”
